Ravi Shankar & Zakir Hussein: Concert for Peace

Well you can’t go wrong with two timeless masters on one album. On this release, Ravi and Zakir weave an amazing tapestry of classical indian ragas that are guaranteed to make your soul sing. Recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Zakir Hussain and The Rhythm Experience is a world percussion ensemble which weaves the rhythms of India, Cuba, Africa, the Middle East and Indonesia into a repertoire that combines skillfully improvised exchanges with precise unison drumming. The ensemble was founded by percussionist extraordinaire, Zakir Hussain, who has composed all of the pieces on this extraordinary recording which features performances by Zakir's father, Ustad Allarakha, Mickey Hart, Narada Michael Walden, Mel Martin, Vince Delgado and Zakir's brother Fazal Qureshi.
